How can I adequately say ‘Thank You’ for the care you gave my mom during the past months. The love. The compassion. The kindness. Truly living up the term ‘care’ center.

Dear Sierra Oaks Staff – Words fail to express the gratitude and thankfulness both my husband and I have for the way you took care of not only my mother but all the residents you continue to care for daily. All of you deserve a big “Thank You” and “accolades”. We are deeply appreciative of the care and tenderness with which you have treated my mother in the years that she has been at Sierra Oaks. Thank you!

My mom moved into Oakdale Heights, and she’s been there two weeks. She just started with dementia, so she’s at a pretty low level and she’s pretty independent and mobile. It’s a very friendly community with very attentive staff. There’s always somebody available to talk to if anything comes up. I’ve worked mostly with Amber, Lacey, and Debbie, and they’ve all been great. And then they have a maintenance guy there that helps you move stuff in, and his name is Kirk. And they’re just all great and friendly. She got to sit out in the sun yesterday, and a few of them were out in the sun and trying to enjoy that. She’s had a really enjoyable day. The dining area looks good, and the food is really good. They have three chefs, but all the food’s been really good. She has a typical apartment. She’s doing a shared apartment with somebody else, and they have two bedrooms, a living room, and a little kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. They always have something going on. Once a week they go on a scenic drive in their little bus. They have an available bus and every Tuesday, the seniors, if they want to, can go for a drive. They took them out to the lake the other day just to get out and about and go around. They’ll take them to doctor’s appointments for you if the family can’t make it to pick them up and take them, which is a nice amenity. We’ve used that once. They have bingo and crosswords, and they have a common area with a TV. What I liked about it is you could bring your own furniture into the apartment. That way your family member feels more at home with her own stuff. They’ve just been so great for us. It’s just a relief to know that she’s safe because we can’t be with her 24 hours a day. She does have a little bit of a memory problem, and so we just feel safer with her there. It’s a little bit of an older facility, but I think they’re now in the process of upgrading it, so I can’t wait to see when they’re done.

I researched and visited six other memory care facilities prior to selecting Quail Crest. My criteria included care model, facility layout, options for my spouse’s particular needs, and staff/resident ratio, as well as staff stability and history. Quail Crest won out and we were fortunate enough to match up with Sunflower Cottage, whose staff have provided excellent and compassionate care. They have gone above and beyond to respond to Kathleen’s needs and have responded positively to all our requests. At present, I can enthusiastically recommend Quail Crest to those families seeking a memory care facility.

My mom lives at the beautiful Ocean View Memory Care facility in Brookings, OR. This place is run by people that are as lovely as they come. What a great crew, kind and upbeat, and very conscious of those in their care and their needs. The dining is 5 star and the food beautifilly presented. This is a top-o-the-line care facility. What a lovely thing to know my mom is safe, secure, and well-cared for in this happy, super clean, good smelling, and beautiful environment!

A dear friend that lives alone was getting to the point in life where it became a chore just to check his mail. Couldn’t drive anymore because of vision loss. He and his Son researched many Assisted Living facilities in the area and finally landed here at Azalea Gardens. When COVID finally hit Brookings my friend was already settled in. Good Thing!
No outside visitors allowed in, only highly trained staff are allowed inside. This likely why Azalea Gardens hasn’t had a single C19 case.
My friend provides myself and his Son weekly updates via phone and email. Seems to be happy there and enjoys lunch in the common area.

We (I and 4 others) have a musical group that performs at 9 different memory care facilities in the Rogue Valley 3 times a year so I am well acquainted with each facility. This is the best of all 9 facilities. Extremely attentive staff. It is obvious that this staff really cares for each member of their community. This would be my premier choice for a loved one with memory problems.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for the kindness and care Momma Rita received while she was a resident of Sierra Oaks. You ALL provided a safe and loving environment for her final years and for that my family is grateful. For any remaining monies left from this check, please share some sort of thank you to all staff on all shifts. Maybe a pizza party or something of the sort! I hope that you all know what a positive environment you provided during uncertain times during our loved one’s difficult days and peace in her final hours. Your facility and staff gave us peace of mind while we were unable to be with Momma. Thank you!

Oakdale Staff- We just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate all of you at Oakdale. It was an agonizing decision that we had to make when it was obvious that Earl could no longer live on his own and would need to be in an assisted living facility. Oakdale wasn’t the first home we looked at, but thank goodness it was the last. It was such a perfect fit for him. He would often tell us stories about the different workers and residents whom he had become friends with (although we had a hard time figuring out who he was talking about because we often didn’t know what nickname went to who!). Thank you so much for your kindness, empathy, and patience. You all became a part of his family.
